P1 Done = Burgers and Karaoke

So C. finished his first period (semester in U.S. college-speak) at INSEAD yesterday. I can’t believe how quickly two months have gone by.

img_2164After three days of grueling back-to-back final exams, there was nothing that C. and his friends wanted more than a big, fat hamburger and fries. Luckily, we found a place right around the corner from our apartment called “Chaplin’s”(that we’d never actually noticed before)  that serves really yummy, McDonald’s style, burgers for McDonald’s style prices. It was wonderful!

Then, to shake off all that stress (and calories from the burgers), C. and I got together with a few friends to sing karaoke in a dive bar in the center of Fontainebleau. I know what you’re thinking….”How can you sing karaoke in French? You don’t speak fluent French.” But, luckily for us, they had a lot of American songs you could sing. We’ve come to see that Europeans are simply obsessed with Madonna and Michael Jackson. So, in turn, we’ve become obsessed with them too and enjoyed singing old, classic 80s songs, mixed in with a few Disney favorites. You know what they say, “When in Rome….”

Here are a few photos of us (and our friends) singing karaoke. It was a great night!
